Gas Constipation

Gas constipation is one of the “delightful” symptoms that come along with being irregular. You will have all sorts of unpleasant and painful symptoms but gas is the one that lets everyone else in the room know that you have intestinal distress. Since gas is made in the stomach and intestines as your body digests food to be processed into energy, when you are constipated it is perfectly understandable that you would also have more gas than normal. As you are not moving your bowels, the gas also is building up and hanging out in your intestines.

Eventually, gas constipation will start to relieve itself by being expressed from the rectum but this rarely causes more than just temporary relief. When you are constipated, you have more gas than usual and more will take the place of what you have just managed to expel. It is probably not the best idea to be in the company of a lot of people when you have this type of gas. Have some alone time if that is at all possible. As the gas is building up due to the constipation, the odor associated with you passing some of this gas is going to be particularly noxious.

The best way to get rid of gas constipation is by relieving the constipation itself. This can be done by trying some home remedies or visiting your local pharmacy for some over the counter laxatives. If this is an ongoing problem for you, it may become necessary to see your doctor so an examination can be performed to find out if there is any physical cause that you are irregular so much of the time. Your doctor can also prescribe stool softeners. These are not laxatives but they do aid in keeping the stool pliable enough to make its way out of the body.

Gas constipation can also be completely cured when you are eating the right kinds of food. Getting enough fiber in your diet is the best way to keep from becoming irregular. Eat the right amount of fruits, vegetables, and grains, and you will most likely have few to no issues with constipation. Add in drinking an adequate amount of water with the proper diet and you will feel better than you have in a very long time. Regular exercise will also keep things moving along smoothly so that constipation will be a thing of the past for you.
