Constipation Kids

Constipation kids can be one of the most miserable ordeals for both kids and parents. These are not pleasant experiences, especially if the kids are constipated for days and are experiencing a lot of bloating, gas, and abdominal pain from it. Of course, if things progress to that point, a doctor needs to be consulted either by appointment or through the emergency room. The child will need to be examined to find out just what is causing the problem with evacuation. Once the problem is located, the doctor can outline a solution so the child can feel better once again.

A healthy diet that is high in fiber is one way to keep constipation kids at bay. Most kids love to eat different kinds of fruit and that is something you should be encouraging. In addition, there are several kinds of vegetables that can be enjoyed raw as a snack that provide quite a bit of fiber. So part of your problem is solved if you have been instructed to add more fiber to your child’s diet. Put out a plate of fruit slices at snack time or include it at meals for dessert. Your kids will be delighted at getting to eat all of this wonderful fruit.

Something else that helps with constipation kids is making sure they are getting an adequate amount of water each day. If your child is not fond of drinking water, there are ways to flavor it that still make it healthy for your child as well as make them want to WANT to drink it. You can always entice them with lemonade, or other flavors and they will be begging you for more. It can be your secret that it is actually quite a good thing they are doing for themselves as that knowledge seems to make them less interested in doing it.

Exercise is another thing that staves off constipation kids. However, young children are rarely still and rarely do they have to be encouraged to play. It is great for them to get out and be as active as possible. This will also do wonders in keeping their little bodies fit and their systems working smoothly so that constipation is not something that they will have to face very often. Even though there are certain foods that can stop up their systems from time to time, but it is usually temporary and only happens on occasion.
