Constipation Fiber
Constipation fiber is not what it sounds like. While it may sound like it means fiber that causes constipation, it really is talking about the fiber that helps keep the constipation AWAY. This means that you should be incorporating enough fiber in your diet so that you do not run the risk of having your digestive system grow sluggish and shut down on you. That is what brings on the misery of being irregular. You will not want to have to experience that any more than you have to in your life. Therefore, working out a high fiber diet is essential to your regularity.
In addition to constipation fiber, you should also include plenty of water in your eating pattern. Taking in enough water each day is just as important as getting the right amount of fiber. The water keeps your system sufficiently hydrated and makes sure that the digestive process is able to move along smoothly. These combined forms of “fuel” for your body do a lot to keep constipation away and keep your bowels moving regularly. Simply start adding more fruit, vegetables, and whole grains to your diet. It may not happen all at once, but you will start to notice a definite increase in your energy and overall well being within days.
While constipation fiber and adequate water will keep your system regular, you can also help yourself even more by adding in some exercise. This does not mean that you have to join a gym and go work out every day. Even something as small as walking a certain distance every other day will help start to build up your body and, possibly, even make it want MORE exercise. If you start noticing that you seem to crave a bit more exercise, slowly build yourself up to where you are comfortable that it is the right amount for you.
Just because you change your eating habits to include constipation fiber does not mean that you can never ever have a piece of birthday cake or a bowl of ice cream again. You can certainly treat yourself to “fun” food on occasion. It is just a matter of not over doing it when you decide to treat yourself and indulge in a food that is purely empty calories. One doughnut is not going to constipate you. So, unless you just WANT to never eat junk food again, don’t feel that your fun eating is over just because you are now eating healthy.
